This definition came from my roommate, a Senior Civil Engineering Major. I thought since he was about to go to the workforce of Engineers his definition would be solid.
Chris: "If its not a particular type of technology, I would say: The knowledge and thorough understanding of a particular area/subject used to improve and enhance daily activities."
